Some 180 swimmers competed Aug. 13, 2011and set a number of records at the first annual Davis Aquatic Masters long course meet at Schaal Aquatic Center on the UC-Davis campus. Although final times are still being tallied, preliminary results show that two world records were set in the 100 fly and 200 IM by Jill Hernandez, 51, of Chico. Steve Carlson, 92, of Davis set PMS records in the 50 and 100 free and 50 backstroke events. Overall, 37 DAM records were either set of tied at the event. The was DAM's first pool event the club sponsored in 30 years. DAM is, of course, well known for hosting the Lake Berryessa Open Water Swim.
