Weekly News for April 14th - April 20th

TODAY, April 14th, is the last day to sign up on the sheet at Civic pool to help Coach Craig with his research project.

Spring Stroke Clinics will be held on May 3rd - Free, May 10th - Back, May 17th - Fly, and May 18th - Breast. All clinics will take place at Civic pool from 1-2:45pm and are geared toward novice and middle lane swimmers. Swimmers MUST pre-pay $3 to Coach Rick/Craig BEFORE signing up on the board (or pay $5 on the day of the clinic). Open to non-DAM members for $10 pre-pay/$15 on the day of. Hundreds of DAM swimmers have benefited from these clinics over the past 6 years. Clinics include video analysis of world class swimmers' strokes, explanations of technique for each stroke and in water drills with coaches getting in the pool to help the participants.

The May 8th talk will feature Neck and Shoulder Problems with chiropractor and DAM swimmer Marc Ross. It will take place at 6:30pm in the Brady Building. Limit of 20.

Members are reminded to secure their personal belongings. Vehicle burglaries are on the rise. Many burglaries can be prevented by simply removing the opportunity to steal. Don't leave valuables in your car - particularly in plain sight. Last Saturday a women's purse was stolen from her locked car while she was swimming. The safest place to keep your valuables is in the trunk of your vehicle. If you must leave valuable items in your car, place items out of sight BEFORE reaching your destination. Before walking away, take a moment to make sure no valuables are in sight. Lock ALL your vehicle's doors and roll up windows. Set any alarm or anti-theft device. Report suspicious activity (persons walking up and down parking lot looking into cars).

Volunteers are needed for the 2008 Lake Berryessa Swim. Those members interested can use the online signup form here.

All members MUST have a valid PMS to swim! You can either fill out the PMS renewal forms at Civic and drop off the form and $40 check for me to send in. OR USMS is now allowing members to renew their membership online using this link If you register online, please drop off a copy of your receipt in the mailbox between the bulletin boards at Civic pool.
