USMS Nationals in Mesa, AZ - The DAM Wrap-up
In an incredibly hot environment (97+ degrees), with extremely long days (38+ hrs of racing) our unwithered DAM team stood strong and turned in many great swims. The squad finished 25th overall out of 260 teams and in the process five of our swimmers set eight new records and added two more relay records. Matt Roper was top scorer with 49 individual points and the only swimmer to earn a National Champion title by wining the 1000 free. His time of 10:55.94 was also a club record.
Adding to the team points were Sally Guthrie (69) - top female point-getter - with 38, Leslie Westergaard (27), Stuart Kahn (26), Kris Hornoff (13), Jenny Mohn (11), Emma Garforth (8), Helene Nehrebecki (4), Stephanie Dennison (3) and Brian Bolz (1).
