USMS Summer Nationals, August 7-11
The 2019 U.S.Masters Swimming Summer National Championship was held August 7-11 at the newly renovated Marguerite Aquatic Center in Mission Viejo, Calif. DAM sent a squad of 32 swimmers.
In a field of 200 clubs from across the country, the DAM team finished in sixth place at the Long Course Summer Nationals in Mission Viejo.
The West Coast is still considered the hottest region in America for masters swimming and for good reason. Nine of the top ten teams were from our state and eight of those were from SoCal. DAM was the highest placing club from NorCal. Only a team from Florida was able to crash the California party.
All 32 DAM swimmers (20 women and 12 men) contributed points, either individually or on relays, in tallying 914 points for the team banner. When ranking the DAM squad based on number of swimmers before the meet, DAM swimmers penciled in as the eighth largest team with a point tally of around 700 points.
Here are the team sizes, points scored and final placing for the TOP TEN Clubs. In addition, (and this a new, remarkable addition by Club Assistant) if you click the links to the DAM women or men, you'll be taken to our team roster with further links to each DAM swimmer's events, times, placings and videos of each swim.
