As per club history, all DAM members -particularly our newbies - are again encouraged to participate in the annual USMS One Hour Swim (OHS) challenge. 2019 continues the official extension of the event from one month to two (Jan and Feb). We will promote the event to our competitors in January as we've typically done by setting aside one lane per weekday practice and available lanes per weekend lap swim. But in February, only lanes at weekend lap swim will be designated for the OHS, none during weekday practices. Because the OHS is a national championship ($7 entry fee), participation earns two points towards the 2018 DAM Grand Prix.
Except for Mondays, one lane at most practices is set aside for 2 members to swim their laps. The signup calendar with more details is at Civic. And, yes, it is a tiring event but that's the real challenge, both physically and mentally. Start planning now. Make sure to renew your USMS registration before you swim
