2022 USMS One Hour Swim Update

   The Final Results for individual swims are now posted on USMS. Use these links to find your national rankings for the Women's Results and Men's Results. The relays are still in preliminary status and won't be official until March 1. DAM relay records are current with 2022 results included.

   Soon after March 1, the Club Champions will be declared and there is no possible reason DAM will not be in FIRST PLACE. The total number of participants this year was 1050 and DAM was the largest club with 130 swimmers (74 women and 56 men) and New England Masters was second largest with 108 entrants.

   With every ounce of caution then, we're announcing the upcoming sale in early March of NATIONAL CHAMPION commemorative long-sleeve shirts. Still in design mode for the front, the back of the shirts prominently lists names of all the participants who contributed their yards to the cumulative team title. THANK YOU to each and every DAM member whose combined 60 minute swims brought the USMS Club Title back to Davis!

Postal Pace Update

Use the following equation to calculate your current Postal Pace Intervals based on your OHS total yards  -

3600 (number of seconds in an hour) divided by yards = seconds per 100

Example = 3600 / 4150 = 0.8674

86.74 = Postal pace of 1:26.74

   CONGRATULATIONS to the following 21 women and 18 men who placed in the TOP 10 Times of their respective age groups, with additional recognition to Amy Rieger for her first-place finish and National Champion title in the 60-64 age group.

2022 Grand Prix Update - March is 30/30 month

   March is the first of the two '30/30' months in our Grand Prix series (September is the other). DAM swimmers who swim a minimum of 30 minutes for 30 consecutive days, earn five points towards their Grand Prix total. The swims do NOT have to be swum at DAM practices, any regulation pool suffices, as this is an 'honor system' event. Everyone who swims on either the 1st or the 2nd of March is eligible to continue.

   The initial listing of 2022 GP points, including those who have participated in at least two separate events, is now posted on the DAM website. Check here for additional event details and the Feb 21, 2022 rankings.

   For additions or corrections, please contact Event Tabulator, Leslie Westergaard, at lwestergaard@comcast.net.

DAM Board Meeting

The next DAM Board meeting will be on Tuesday, March 8, at 6:30PM, in the Brady Building. This, and future, board meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings.
