Notes from the Coaching StaffLifeguard re-certification class Are you a lifeguard, but your certification is lapsed? Your certification must be renewed every two years in order for you to be a DAM Second Lifeguard(*). Coach Megan is offering a re-certification course for DAM swimmers who are already certified, but whose certification is expired. The class will take place May 7th, 2pm at Civic Pool. DAM will cover the cost of the course. Interested members should contact Vivian Crow, or talk to the coach on deck.

Record-setting DAM Swimmer
DAM swimmer Amy Rieger has been busy in the pool! Last year she earned her first-ever USMS All-Star award, with 11 first place finishes in pool events. (USMS All-Stars are those who achieve the most first place finishes in their age group during the year in Top Ten competition.) Recently, at the Pacific Masters SCY Championships in Morgan Hill, she set three USMS national records in the 100, 200 and 400 IM's (1:06.76, 2:23.95 and 5:07.38). Amy was recently featured on the Champion's Mojo Podcast to talk about swimming and more. Check it out! |

Berryessa Volunteers (and generator) still needed!
We're still seeking volunteers to help help DAM put on the Annual Lake Berryessa Swims! You can swim the event AND volunteer, all on the same day!
Do you have a gas powered generator that DAM can use? If you have a gas powered electric generator that we can use for the 2022 Lake Berryessa Open Water Swim (June 4, 2022), please contact Race Director Kim Elsbach at kdelsbach@ucdavis.edu Thank You!!
All volunteers will receive a T-shirt, and we will provide snacks on the day of the event.

Head Coach Search Committee - update
Over the past 2 weeks DAM's Head Coach Search Committee conducted Zoom interviews with 5 candidates. Each committee member rated the candidates and there was excellent agreement concerning which candidates to move forward with. This week the committee is checking references and conducting background checks (using an outside vendor). After those results are received and reviewed, the committee will schedule in-person interviews during the period from April 18 - May 6. Our goal is to have a new coach on the deck by July 1! |
