DAM's Big Day of Fishing2022 Fundraising Event What do you value most about being a DAM member?
A new DAM member may reply, “the high quality and quantity of coached workouts.” A longer-term DAM member will reply, “personal benefits that sustain, nurture and stimulate us, while meeting diverse, individual needs; camaraderie, lifelong friendships, physical fitness, social, emotional and shared caring.”
DAM members recognize that to offer these benefits and meet the needs of our DAM community, there are costs associated with running our club. To remain affordable, DAM became a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and hosts multiple, fundraising events; Lake Berryessa Swims (38 years), Brute Squad (13 years) and the End of Summer Splash Meet (7 years.)
This year, in addition to recovering from the financial complications resulting from Covid, we have been advised by the City of Davis that our hourly pool rental rate will be increased.
Therefore we are planning our biggest ever, “internal” fundraising event.
ALL DAM members are invited & encouraged to participate!

Berryessa Volunteers still needed!
Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help at our Berryessa swim. We still need people to unload the truck and set up on Friday at the lake (dinner provided), and to help in the following jobs: start, finish, parking, first aid and water safety. You can sign up at Civic or use our online signups. We also need people to donate packaged snacks and bottled water. Sign up at the pool.
All volunteers will receive a T-shirt, and we will provide snacks on the day of the event.
You can sign up at Civic, or by clicking the button below! Contact Kathy Gill with any questions.

DAM Head Coach Search Committee Update
In-Person Candidate Visits!
The search committee and DAM board of directors are pleased to announce that next week the club enters the in-person phase of the candidate selection process. Luke Johnson will be here on Wednesday May 4th and Matt Zachan on Wednesday May 11th. The candidates full itinerary will include 4 coached workouts (7, 8am, noon and 6:15pm), a question-and-answer session in the Brady Room at Civic Pool, along with meetings with DAM board of directors, members of the search committee, and coaches at various meals and down time.
The Q & A sessions will be held on Wednesday May 4th and Wednesday May 11th from 5:15-6:00pm. A limit of 30 DAM members will be invited to sign up for each session. Questions will be solicited in advance, selected by the Search Committee, and identically presented to each candidate. Questions will be read by a moderator and the Search Committee will record the answers for evaluation.
How can you participate in the Q&A?
1) Reserve your spots if you can make one or both of the Q & A sessions. You don’t have to submit a question to attend. Please identify the dates you are reserving and send a question if you wish.
2) Can’t attend the sessions. You can still submit a question.
Send each of the above requests to Mary Kahn (mjoyswim@gmail.com) Reservations and submissions will close on Saturday April 30th.

Crime Alert!
A bicycle belonging to one of our members was stolen during the Friday 1PM practice. The bike was locked in the bike racks near the parking lot, but the lock was cut and the bike stolen. Members, please be aware that even though this is a high traffic area, adjacent to City Hall, even locked bicycles are not entirely secure! Members may use the fence line adjacent to the locker rooms to lock their bikes during practice, just so long as the bikes do not block the walkway to and from the locker rooms. This area is visible to coaches and swimmers in the pool area.

DAM Board MeetingThe next DAM Board meeting will be on Tuesday, May 10, at 6:30PM, in the Brady Building. (** This meeting time may change, likely to later in the week, as it will conflict with HC candidate interviews. Please check next week's MM for an update.)
