Scott Allison Memorial Scholarship Fund

As many of you know, Scott Allison passed away in October of 2021 after a brief but intense battle with lung cancer. For years, Scott was an integral part of DAM's communication division by maintaining the website, operating the club email accounts and by serving on the Board of Directors. Scott’s wife, Gail Kennedy decided that an important way to honor Scott was to combine his legacy of helping others, his love of fitness, and his cancer diagnosis. In partnership with the Allison/Kennedy family, Cancer Champions has launched the Scott Allison Memorial Scholarship Fund.

This fund will help underserved lung cancer patients and their supporters with fitness and nutrition advice as they battle cancer. The mission of Cancer Champions is to bridge the gap for cancer fighters and survivors between home and the hospital. Cancer Champions offers a supportive community, as well as nutrition and fitness guidance to complement treatment regimens and maximize positive health outcomes.

The Scott Allison Memorial Scholarship Fund will allow Scott’s family to provide grants to lung cancer fighters and survivors in Yolo County, in order to assist them in the physical and mental battle against cancer. Any and all donations in Scott’s memory are greatly appreciated, and go directly to aiding lung cancer patients in Scott’s name.

Watch Your DAM Pool Manners

DAM's incredible coaching corps have sustained our workout schedule during this months-long Head Coach search. Especially intended for new swimmers inexperienced in team workouts and workout etiquette, the video is also a great refresher for all DAM members. Check it out!
