It was a great meet and lots of fun! If you're interested in swimming in a meet and/or have any questions about meets, let me know. They are a great way to bond with your teammates and put your swimming skills to the test! And don’t worry, you don’t have to be fast. Meets are open to all abilities.

Silent Auction Update

It is with great excitement that we invite you to participate in a very special DAM event. The annual Holiday Party and Business Meeting will be at 6:00pm on December 10 at the Senior Center MPR. This year we’ve inaugurated a Silent Auction fundraiser as part of the festivities. DAM is approaching its Golden Anniversary (50 years in 2024) and has a rich history and tradition of serving the adult members of the Davis community by

  • providing opportunities to maintain or increase physical fitness through swimming,
  • opportunities to participate in competitive swim events,
  • and education on the health benefits of swimming.

The financial stability of the club is supported exclusively by member dues and contributions. Contributions in the form of donations are tax-deductible and help our club maintain solid fiscal standings.

The Silent Auction is replacing the April Pools Day fundraiser by combining this new event with the always popular annual party and meeting. Our club has a wealth of gifted artists and generous supporters. If you feel called to participate in this very special event, we are reaching out to you for donations in the following categories.

  • Gift Baskets
  • Art pieces and craft work
  • Vacation homes
  • Gift coupons
  • Services
  • Sports game tickets
  • and any other creative idea that is valuable

Please consider contributing individually or by participating with your lane mates from your workout time to create a gift basket. Each of the 10 practice hours is asked to fill one or more baskets by theme (click here for common gift basket ideas). For example, the 6am Civic practice has already designed a coffee basket. We are hoping to receive a nice variety of unique gift baskets.

GIFT BASKETS - Starting Monday, Oct 17 there will be boxes at Civic and Arroyo marked with the practice times. Please drop your gift basket proposal into the box using the attached form.

OTHER DONATIONS - Starting Monday, Oct 17 there will also be a general donation box at each pool (accessed by the coach-on-deck) for other donations not assigned to a basket: art work, vacation cabins, coupons, services, etc.

All of the above donated items will require this form listing who it is from, contact info, what it is and the value of the item. All donations forms are due in the respective boxes by November 11. After the deadline closes, and in an effort to keep raffle items at an acceptable standard and avoid duplications, the selection committee will notify each donor of their acceptance by November 18 . Donors will receive additional information about the auction and specific details regarding tax-deduction requirements after the donation period closes.

The actual delivery date for selected items will be during the week of December 5.

DAM Board Meeting

The next DAM Board meeting will be on Tuesday, October 11, at 6:30PM in the Brady Building.
